Coastal meadows

Level ground

Meadows along the seashore comprise a flat landscape where the ground blends almost imperceptibly into the broad surface of the water under a high and mighty sky. The beaches are shallow and attract birds in great numbers.

Along the coasts

Coastal meadows are most common along the shores of Öland and Gotland, the two large islands in the Baltic Sea which are depicted in the diorama.
