The wolverine is a skilled climber, and an equally skilled hunter. It is also a hoarder. It will often drag its prey into a tree, in order to have it for himself. Two siberian tits watch curiously.
Reindeers are important food for the wolverine in the winter. The wolverine has large round feet, which are effective on loose snow. The reindeer sinks deeper into the snow, and may have difficulties in evading the wolverine.
The wolverine also feeds on carrion and takes other predators' leftovers or animals that have died by accident. The prey is torn apart before it is buried in snow, swampy ground or by cold springs that do not freeze in the winter.
