Problems
Many new species can fit in well and become widespread. Some of them cause big problems; the Lusitanian slug is one example. But most new species cannot adapt to the new environment and soon disappear.
Nature in the future
More new species may turn up. The raccoon dog, for example, has been spotted several times in Sweden. The species is probably on its way in from northern Finland and may in time become common in Sweden.
